Deep understanding of the notion concerning the opposition between cultural world represented by the city and nature connected with the life in the country was captured in Titians painting from 1511 depicting St. Anthonys miracle, taking place at the meeting of those two spaces. This sophisticated contrast, characteristic of the Italian Renaissance, was not reflected in Poland where the cities and their court culture were less representative.
